Jowita Wyszomirska: Emerging Artist at Foundry Art Centre

From the Riverfront Times

The best art, like Jowita Wyszomirska‘s works, always retains the ability to surprise and delight. At once whimsical and boldly powerful, the Polish-born artist’s pieces are large in scale (Untitled stretches exuberantly across two gallery walls) and kinetic with pure invention. Her masterful deployment of mixed media and three-dimensionality results in works that are part painting, part installation — and always wholly beautiful. Flutter, for instance, presents the viewer with a lovely visual enigma, one you’ll want to take your sweet time trying to unravel.

Tue.-Sun. through Feb. 13. Foundry Art Centre (520 North Main Street, St. Charles; 636-255-0270 or www.foundryartcentre.org). Free admission.
